Beef Brisket
  • 6 lbs or more of Beef Brisket
  • 1 med sized onion (chopped)
  • 2 Tbsp oil (Salad Oil)
  • ½ Cup water
  • 2 Tbsp. Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • ¼ tsp Pepper (freshly ground)
  1. Trim fat from brisket. Place brisket in heavy aluminum foil large enough to enclose and seal brisket. Set in baking dish.
  2. In sauce pan cook onions in oil until tender, but not browned.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and heat to boiling.
  4. Remove from heat and pour hot sauce over brisket.
  5. Seal brisket and sauce in foil. Fold ends and sides of foil and press to seal tightly.
  6. Bake in 325° F oven for 2-1/2 hours.
  7. Turn off oven and allow brisket to remain in oven until oven cools.
  8. Remove from oven and allow it to rest at least 1 hour before slicing.
Brisket is easier to slice if refrigerated overnight or until it is completely cooled.
Save sauce, slice, wrap in aluminum foil, pour some of saved sauce & BBQ sauce (if desired) over sliced brisket, seal and reheat in oven for serving.
