Chocolate and Caramel Bars
  • 1 14-oz package caramels
  • ½ C evaporated milk
  • 1 package German chocolate cake mix
  • ¾ C melted butter
  • ⅓ C evaporated milk
  • 1 C chopped pecans
  • 1 C milk chocolate morsels
  1. Combine caramels and evaporated milk in a heavy pan until melted; set aside.
  2. Grease 9x13 pan.
  3. Mix cake mix, butter, evaporated milk and nuts. Press half of the dough in the prepared pan.
  4. Bake 8 minutes at 350.
  5. Sprinkle chocolate morsels over baked cake. Spread caramel mixture over the chocolate mixture. Crumble rest of dough over caramels.
  6. Bake another 18-20 minutes. Cool completely before cutting.
