Peanut Butter Krispies Treats
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 - 1½ cups smooth peanut butter (I use the 1½ cups)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup butterscotch chips
  1. Pre-measure Rice Krispies cereal, sugar, corn syrup and peanut butter.
  2. Mix sugar and corn syrup in large 6-quart pan. Place over medium heat, stir frequently so it does not burn. Bring to a mild boil.
  3. Add peanut butter; return to a mild boil. Keep stirring frequently!
  4. Take pan off heat and add cereal. Stir until cereal is evenly coated.
  5. Spread into a 9"x13" cake pan.
  6. Place chocolate and butterscotch chips in a microwavable dish to melt.
  7. Microwave on HIGH for 1 minute; stir and continue heating at 20-second intervals until chips are melted.
  8. Spread over Rice Krispies mixture.
  9. Allow to cool completely before cutting.
